Endoscopic Technologist - Senior
Full‑time, on‑site role at Luminis Health. You will provide advanced support during all endoscopic procedures, train and orient new technicians, and maintain equipment.
Responsibilities- Assist physicians in procedures involving guidewire manipulation, stent placements, balloon dilations, stone retrieval, electrocautery, laser therapy, photodynamic therapy, endoscopic ultrasound, variceal and hemorrhoid banding, esophageal catheter placement, naso‑ and percutaneous gastric/jejunal tube insertion, polypectomies, fine‑needle aspiration, vessel clipping, celiac plexus neurolysis, tumor ablation, specimen processing, sphincterotomies, and biliary manometry.
- Perform advanced interventional endoscopy (ERCPs, EUS, endoscopic hemostasis, capsule endoscopy).
- Collect and properly handle patient specimens for pathology, culture, viral studies, brush cytology, microbiology, and pH studies.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot all endoscopic equipment; notify leadership of problems.
- Manually clean endoscopes before reprocessing, following infection‑prevention standards.
- Manage inventory and order supplies; participate in annual inventory.
- Orient and train new staff; plan in‑service training and coordinate continuing education.
- Interact with patients and families to ensure a positive experience.
- Transport patients within the facility as needed.
- Participate in quality review and develop new work methodologies to improve service quality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- At least five years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician with advanced technology experience.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- ASGE and/or SGNA certification preferred.
- Ability to work in environments exposed to blood‑borne pathogens.
- Physical ability to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.
- Valid physical fitness and ability to perform essential job functions.
$19 – $23 USD per hour.
