Responsibilities
Defining and executing produce procurement strategies across all banners, with focus on cost, quality, availability, and execution.
Leading local and global sourcing, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract structures across domestic, U.S., and international vendors.
Leading high‑value supplier negotiations and setting negotiation strategy for key and category‑defining contracts.
Ensuring continuity of supply through diversified sourcing and proactive management of weather, tariff, and global market risks.
Monitoring market conditions, crop cycles, and competitive dynamics impacting cost, availability, and quality.
Partnering with Category and Merchandising on assortment decisions, promotional planning, and supplier alignment.
Collaborating with Operations, Inventory Management, Transportation, and Distribution to support execution and service levels across BC and Alberta warehouses.
Partnering with Finance on cost volatility, forecasting, and margin protection.
Providing market insight and recommendations to senior leadership.
Leading and developing a team of Produce Buyers, setting clear accountability and decision rights while remaining connected to day‑to‑day buying.
Qualifications
10+ years of senior leadership experience in produce procurement, sourcing, or grocery supply chain environments, with accountability at an enterprise or multi‑banner level.
Deep negotiation expertise, including leading high‑value, complex supplier negotiations across domestic and international markets.
A proven track record leading supplier strategy, complex negotiations, and commercial decision‑making in volatile, commodity‑driven markets.
Demonstrated ownership of continuity of supply, cost management, and margin protection at scale.
Experience leading and holding teams accountable in fast‑paced, market‑facing environments.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret market signals and drive sound business decisions.
Proven credibility partnering with senior leaders across Merchandising, Operations, Distribution, and Finance to influence outcomes and alignment.

Clear and direct in communication, able to translate market and sourcing complexity into actionable direction.
