We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Payroll Manager to join our team.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting & Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and full-cycle payroll administration. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, timely payroll processing, and compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
Reconciling daily cash and banking
Complete Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Prepare and file GST and PST returns
Perform full-cycle accounting for associated companies
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Support financial reporting and maintain effective internal controls
Payroll
Manage end-to-end payroll processing (semi-monthly and monthly)
Ensure accurate computation of wages, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and deductions
Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs), T4s, and annual filings
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and job changes
Oversee payroll tax remittances and year-end reporting
Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Coordinate payroll system updates and integrations with HR and accounting systems
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting and payroll
CPA designation considered an asset
Automotive dealership experience considered an asset
Experience with CDK accounting software preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
High level of accuracy, professionalism, and discretion
Compensation
$70,000 – $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
