Job Description

Jeff Kibble, Member of Parliament for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford, is hiring a part-time (3 per week) Constituency Assistant. In this position, the successful candidate will work closely with the Member and his constituency staff and represent the Member in a professional and positive manner.

Primary responsibilities
  • Staff the MP’s constituency office (24 hours/week) located in Langford BC;
  • Manage the calendar and ensure the schedule is up to date;
  • Attend and support the Member at events and meetings;
  • Provide administrative support in an office that offers a wide range of services;
  • Maintain the CRM database;
  • Assist with MP’s community events and other duties as required.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience

Qualifications Education
  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor degree from a recognized institution in political science or communications or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experiences
  • Strong client‑service background in an office or industry setting, with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Experience preparing briefs and formal correspondence, supported by solid research skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Highly motivated and dependable professional with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities, with great attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and good understanding of how the Federal Government operates.
Assets
  • Previous political work experience;
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and familiarity with, Conservative environments or related political contexts.
