Position: EMEA Logistics Sourcing Leader (m/f/x)

As the EMEA Sourcing Leader (Logistics), you will oversee sourcing operations for key logistics commodities across the region, including 3PL, warehousing, ocean, air, parcel, and road freight contracts. In this role, you will be accountable for developing and executing sourcing strategies for all logistics service providers in the EMEA region, leading cross‑functional teams through end‑to‑end sourcing initiatives. You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, drive process improvements, and ensure a competitive sourcing environment that supports continuous improvement.

Additionally, you will analyze market trends and cost structures while supporting supplier initiatives, including annual cost‑reduction programs.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead the development and execution of EMEA logistics sourcing strategy

  • Lead regional and Subsidiary RFPs for top spend

  • Lead supplier selection and segmentation process in EMEA region

  • Lead on‑going hopper filling for Logistics services commodity

  • Create and maintain category‑specific knowledge assets and market intelligence that capture expertise / best practices and leverage the expertise / assets to deliver incremental cost reduction and drive significant client business value

  • Strengthen Logistics Sourcing team effectiveness and organize supplier‑based training for the EMEA provider leads

  • Align priorities with regional benchmarking, marketing and sales organization and business groups in gaining annual forecast

  • Maintain strong compliance and policy adherence across the team aligned to Global Procurement standards

  • Lead, develop, train and coach a team of sourcing professionals across the EMEA region

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or Engineering

  • Strong knowledge of 3PL, warehouse, Ocean, Air and all aspects of Road transportation costing and service level agreements

  • Proven experience in sourcing and procurement which includes negotiating commercial terms and service level agreements

  • Fluent in English for negotiation with suppliers. Other EMEA languages are plus.

  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)

  • Self‑motivated, able to perform role with minimal supervision, taking ownership and demonstrating sense of urgency

  • Strong leadership skills and team‑player.

  • Ability to be innovative in issues related to strategic sourcing, supplier relations.

  • Excellent presentation and influential skills.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and 3M suppliers to meet or exceed business objectives.

Additional knowledge / nice‑to‑have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Logistics Sourcing, Operations or PMO background would be advantageous

  • Experience in multicultural environment

  • MBA level qualification

Job Specifics
  • Location Information - EMEA region responsibility with successful candidate to be located at our EMEA Supply Chain HQ in Langenthal, Switzerland

  • Travel expectations - May include up to 20% domestic/international

  • This role has on‑site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at Langenthal.

  • Working pattern (full time/part‑time/shifts)
