Security Guard

Security Guard 2025‑02602 – Wyoming Life Resource Center

This position provides general campus security, behavioral support for difficult residents, and emergency medical response for health‑related issues.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to medical emergencies involving residents and staff, including CPR and AED use.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly fire drills on Life Safety Code‑certified buildings, evaluate performance and participate in briefings.
• Perform daily security checks of facility buildings and surrounding property; ensure doors are secured after hours.
• Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to maintain a visible presence, offer assistance, and enforce traffic rules.
• Complete reports and documentation.
• Fingerprint new employees.
• Lead responses to resident behavior emergencies; manage aggressive or combative situations and participate in debriefings.
• Mediated contentious situations between employees or visitors who are agitated.
• Act as Incident Commander during disaster situations.
• Assist with common household utility problems.
• Maintain required training and certifications, including BLS, PCM, FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800.
• Prepare for disasters and conduct mock events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more years of security experience. Experience in the healthcare field is a plus.

• 1–3 years progressive experience as a Security Guard; or education: associate's degree in Criminal Justice.
• Ability to obtain BLS, PCM, and FEMA 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications within nine months of employment and maintain them.
• Agency may require CDL license.
