Travel Med Surg RN

Overview

Health Trust Workforce Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Lander, Wyoming.

• Med/Surge Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans; preparing and administering medications (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and recording prescribed medications; reporting adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with policy;
  
  educating patients on surgical procedures; recording patients’ medical information and vital signs; monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients, and interpreting and recording electronic displays; initiating corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology; providing bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients; initiating patient education plans prescribed by physicians; teaching patients and significant others how to manage their illness or injury;
  
  changes in dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs; preparing equipment and aiding physicians during examinations and treatments; responding to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol; participating in discharge planning; utilizing time management skills; recording all care information concisely, accurately and completely in a timely manner; performing other position-related duties as assigned depending on the assignment setting.

• Must have ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications (through the American Heart Association) attached to the submission packet.
• Candidates must have WY RN or multi-state RN license, attached to resume.
• Must have 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Candidates might need to float between the Lander & Riverton campuses depending on facility census.
