Permanent/Full Time

Mon - Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm , Friday pm

33 days holiday per year - (25 plus 8 bank holidays )

IT Support and Business Applications Analyst – IT Department

Lancaster area Purpose of the role

This role is working within a small IT Team with 4 members worldwide. The company is seeking a versatile IT person with some experience in ERP systems to join their team. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of IT practices and a proven ability to manage and support various IT functions, coupled with hands‑on experience in Office, Power Platform (especially Power Apps), SharePoint, Microsoft Azure and some form of ERP Management.

This role requires a proactive individual who can support our IT infrastructure, assist with ERP management, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our IT operations. The role will report to the Group IT Manager.

Job Scope

Group-wide (UK base with remote support to the US, France and Overseas users as required)

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • General IT Support:
    • Provide first-line technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues through the in-house Service Desk application.
    • Maintain and update IT documentation, including inventory of hardware and software assets.
    • Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity.
    • Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting system and network issues.
    • Participate in the management of the company's infrastructure, including servers, networks, printers and endpoints.
    • Participate in the implementation and monitoring of security protocols to protect IT assets and data.
    • Install, configure and maintain software applications used by the company.
    • Provide support and training for software applications to ensure effective utilisation.
    • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new software solutions.
    • Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend protective measures.
  • Office Administration:
    • Assist in the management of Office applications, including user account creation and permissions.
    • Provide support and training to users on Office tools such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and One Drive.
    • Assist with Microsoft security and data governance policies administration.
  • Power Apps Development:
    • Participate in the design, development and maintenance of Power Apps and Power Automate applications to streamline business processes.
    • Collaborate with departments to gather requirements and participate in the creation of custom applications that meet their needs.
    • Provide training and support for Power Apps users, ensuring effective utilization of the applications.
  • ERP Support:
    • Assist in the administration and maintenance of the company's ERP systems (Syte Line and Cloudsuite).
    • Support ERP users by troubleshooting issues and providing training as needed.
    • Perform system administration tasks, including user management, configurations and daily reports checks.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in IT support and administration.
  • Any relevant IT Certification (IT Administration, App Development, Security) would be a benefit.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office administration.
  • Some knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BAAN, Syte Line, Cloudsuite) would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Power Shell preferred).
  • Some experience with the Microsoft Power Platform tools (e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Awareness/knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
