Engineer Tech in Training; Lancaster, TX

Overview

Holder Construction is currently seeking entry level Engineer Technicians in Training to support our Field Supervision and project located in Lancaster, TX.

The perfect person for this job is a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced yet supported environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, the ability to work independently on assignments, handle multiple projects at one time while remaining flexible, and working within tight deadlines.

• Assist our Field Engineers in operating electronic total station instrument, transit, Auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Assist with setting and marking stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes.
• Set markers, lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools.
• Provide primary support to our field supervision and demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues.

• Ideal candidates will have 6 months to 1 year of experience; able to read drawings and have training in construction safety protocols (i.e., OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform (boom and scissor)).
• A high school diploma or GED is a plus, as well as strong time management skills.
• Agile/mobile demeanor; ability to stand or walk for long periods; use of fingers, hands, and arms to handle and manipulate objects; ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and work on uneven surfaces/heights; ability to read/write; good vision and hearing (natural or corrected).
• Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs 75% of the time.
• Must be able to work in an OSHA-compliant safety environment, outdoors, and accommodate overtime and weekend hours. Punctuality and promptness are required daily.
