Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Manager will accept 3x12 or 4x12 shift patterns

• Patient ratios of 1:4-5

• Every other weekend requirement

• No on-call responsibilities

• Must float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units

• 2 years of experience required

• First-time travelers not accepted

• South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

• Telemetry competency required

• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations

• Care for patients with respiratory, cardiac, and neurological diagnoses

• Operate specialized equipment including BiPAP, various drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro)

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

• After 2 call-outs without documented medical reason, contract may be cancelled

• Royal blue scrubs required

• Epic charting system

• Free parking available

• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)

This 97-bed healthcare facility operates a Progressive Care Unit specializing in neurological and cardiac care. The facility maintains a 14-bed PCU unit with a daily census of 14 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The organization prioritizes quality patient care and maintains modern equipment and Epic charting systems.
