How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivering treatments, assisting in assessments, and supporting interdisciplinary care planning in accordance with the patient's needs.

Essential Functions

* Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.

* Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.

* Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.

* Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.

* Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.

* Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.

* Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.

* Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.

* Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education:

* Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program

Certifications:

* CPR/BLS certification required

* IV Certification is highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.

Licenses:

* Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.

Experience:

* Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
