Veterans Driver

Job Overview

To transport veterans to VA Medical Facilities or as directed by supervision.

• Transport veterans, dependents, and caregivers to various VA Medical Centers for their medical care.
• Pick up veterans at the Veterans Service Office and drop off the Veterans Transportation Log.
• Phone clients to verify appointments and inform them of pickup times.
• Fill the gas tank upon return to prepare the van for the next driver.
• Follow the Van Drivers Rules and responsibilities for detailed information.
• Assist handicapped veterans as needed (light to moderate physical effort).
• Read and understand maps, directions, and signs.
• Communicate effectively, work with others, and work independently.
• Operate a cell phone.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director/Director.

• Honorably discharged veteran with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurance.
• Safe and offense‑free driving record for at least one year.
• Physical capability to handle older and handicapped veterans who may need assistance.
• Knowledge of Ohio driving laws and regulations.
