Marketing and Communications Intern; Lancaster

South Central Power Company is offering a paid internship with our Member Services Department. This position will prepare college students for entry into a marketing & communications career by providing opportunities to support the marketing & communication needs of the member service division of Ohio’s largest electric cooperative. Responsibilities will include assisting leaders in communications, community relations, energy services, and key accounts on special projects that involve content creation for print and digital platforms, writing and editing, web content creation and evaluation, supporting community relations for public events, and more.

The intern will also have the opportunity to job-shadow a variety of professionals in different job functions and settings to learn more about career opportunities in energy. Candidates must be self-motivated with communication skills and have a desire to further develop their knowledge of this field. Experience utilizing a computer and attention to detail is a must.

Students majoring in public relations, communications, marketing or a related field are encouraged to apply. This internship is expected to last a period of three to six months. A schedule will be determined based on the qualified candidate’s needs.
