Maintenance Repair Worker

Under the supervision of the assigned Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the County facilities.

• Mowing and trimming of grass, pulling weeds, and mulching flower gardens; trimming trees, hedges, and bushes; spraying herbicide; operating power mowers, weed eaters, and snow removal equipment; clearing snow and ice; cleaning parking lots and grounds.
• Repair of equipment.
• Perform maintenance repair items as a plumber, electrician, carpenter, roofer, HVAC tech, welder, painter, or other required tasks.
• Assist with moving furniture, unloading trucks, hanging pictures or bulletin boards, and janitorial work as needed.
• Perform all planned maintenance (PM's) for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment along with other building systems and components.
• Maintain maintenance records in the FMX system.
• Maintain supply lists and inventory of necessary items such as filters, light bulbs, valves, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma and/or GED

Valid Ohio Driver's License

• Knowledge of chemicals, MSDS sheets, and OSHA.
• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in locations above 20 ft. high.
• Ability to lift, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to take instructions.
• Ability to read labels, warnings, and fill out report forms.
• Ability to comply with safety regulations.

Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to inclement weather. Risk of injury or exposure to contagious diseases or chemicals is minimal when proper safety procedures are followed.

Variable hours as needed and on-call as necessary to provide continuous operation of the County Facilities.
