Position Description
The Safety Technician plays a key role in supporting safe operations across all job sites. This position focuses on field activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA, BWC, and other regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture. The coordinator provides on-site guidance, conducts inspections, and partners with project leadership to maintain safe working environments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and coordinate safety training programs including emergency response, PPE use, and safe work practices, while tracking attendance and maintaining certifications.
• Maintain accurate safety records including incident reports, training documentation, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring accessibility for audits and inspections.
• Conduct regular job site visits to observe work practices, verify compliance with OSHA (29 CFR 1910 and 1926), NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards.
• Identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and at-risk behaviors, with a strong focus on electrical safety, and implement immediate corrective actions.
• Document safety inspections, observations, and audit findings, and verify timely completion of corrective measures.
• Support incident investigations by collecting information, validating data, preparing reports, and assisting management in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching and mentoring to employees on proper PPE use, safe work procedures, and hazard recognition.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Crew Leads and other job site staff to plan and implement safety initiatives and maintain consistent standards across worksites.
• Participate in field safety meetings, job site walkthroughs, and audit reviews, providing feedback on trends, recurring hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor updates to OSHA standards and state-specific safety requirements and assist the Safety Manager in aligning field operations with regulatory changes.
• Support preparation of reports, manage regulatory correspondence, maintain compliance documentation, and organize safety records.
• Communicate safety information to employees and serve as a trusted resource for field personnel, encouraging open dialogue about concerns and promoting a positive safety culture.

Position Requirements
Required:
• Strong working knowledge of electrical safety standards, including OSHA, NFPA, and NEC.
• Proven ability to conduct safety inspections, document findings, and communicate clearly with field leadership and crews.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in hazard identification, corrective follow up, and adherence to Claypool Electric safety expectations.
• OSHA 30 (Construction) required or strongly preferred; NFPA 70E training preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to conduct safety training and presentations effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and incident reporting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to analyze data and generate clear safety performance reports.
• Ability to travel to multiple job sites.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check.
Preferred:
• Journeyman or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification
• Experience in electrical construction or industrial electrical environments
• Proficiency in risk assessment and management techniques
