Payroll Accountant DeLaney & Co., CPA’s - Lancaster, OH
We are seeking a professional and motivated payroll accountant to join our growing CPA firm located in Lancaster, Ohio. Our clients are primarily private individuals, a very diverse mix of small and mid-sized businesses and non-profit organizations in the central Ohio area. We have been in business for nearly 20 years and enjoy a reputation of integrity, ethics, and quality in everything that we do.

- Assisting team members with other job duties when required.
- Assisting with payroll preparation and filings.
- Handle routine client questions and work with clients to obtain necessary information.
- Conduct payroll research for unusual situations and respond to IRS notices.
- Communicate client service improvement and business growth opportunity ideas.
The nature of this work requires that you be very detail-oriented, with no tolerance for sloppiness. You should be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numerical data, and familiar with payroll practices and theory. You must have excellent work habits and be someone who “owns the process” and is not only willing and able to do what’s necessary to get the job done when important deadlines are looming but can also see the bigger picture and be able to lead and improve the organization.
You must use sound judgment to protect company and client payroll funds.
You will work directly with clients so excellent communication and "people skills" are essential. Additionally, you will have the ability to be intricately involved in the leadership and continued growth of the firm. This position is ideal for a CPA with an entrepreneurial spirit and who desires the freedom and flexibility that a smaller firm offers.
Minimum Requirements:- Associate degree in accounting (or equivalent work experience)
- CPA or EA license preferred but not required.
- Experience with accounting software including Quick Books, Ultra Tax (preferred) or similar software and ADP RUN
