Quinn Company, your local Caterpillar store, is hiring a Sales Representative - Rental Services in Lancaster, California. Quinn Company ranks among the top performing Caterpillar Dealers in the world. The Sales Representative - Rental Services will generate rental and sales leads in an assigned geographic territory.
This position offers a base salary plus commission, with total annual compensation ranging from $70,000 to $125,000.
Responsibilities- Canvas assigned geographic territory to obtain rental revenue and sales leads from existing and potential customers.
- Visit job sites to identify new opportunities and contact all contractors on site to obtain necessary customer contact information for follow‑up.
- Generate reports for each customer interface and enter information into the system.
- Communicate qualified information to the appropriate account manager and Rental Manager.
- Maintain current call list and current rental agreement list for follow‑up on the job site.
- Identify call frequency based on customer needs, volume, and requirements.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of features and application of all Quinn products and services.
- Maintain competitive knowledge of rental rates, terms, strengths, weaknesses, and performance relative to value.
- Plan customer contacts and activities in advance to optimize efficiency.
- Assist in meeting stated objectives for rental fleet time, utilization, and financial utilization.
- Rent equipment on a profitable basis as measured by gross profit on rental contract.
- Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain current driver license and be available to travel.
- Possess in‑depth knowledge of construction equipment and product lines.
- Comprehend equipment specifications, price lists, and reference materials.
- Perform common sales calculations quickly and accurately.
- Develop in‑depth experience in capital sales.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills sufficient to work cooperatively with people and influence sales/rental transactions.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
- High school diploma.
- Sales/rental background in construction and/or industrial equipment.
- Equipment and application knowledge.
- Proven track record in outside sales and customer development.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and versatile with willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- California driver’s license in good standing.
