Retired Annuitant Position
Antelope Valley Community College District is currently accepting applications for qualified CalPERS Retired Annuitants. This is a continuous recruitment to fill temporary non‑academic, non‑classified assignments on an as‑needed basis. A retired annuitant is a CalPERS retiree who, without applying for reinstatement from retirement, returns to work with a CalPERS employer in a designated retired annuitant position. The position provides short‑term support in a designated Division, Department, or Area.
RepresentativeDuties
On a temporary basis, provide professional assistance and additional help on tasks in a designated Division, Department, or Area, under the direct supervision of the head of that Division, Department, or Area. Short‑term employees perform services that are not recurring and are not a permanent component of the District’s operations. Retired annuitants, non‑academic, and non‑classified short‑term employees may not exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).
Minimum QualificationsDependent on the specific Division, Department, or Area assignment. Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required equivalent qualifications.
Licenses or Other RequirementsSome assignments may require a valid California driver’s license and/or a license or certificate of completion from an accredited college or agency relevant to the assigned area. Continuing education, training or certification may also be required.

- Applicants may be required to pass a written or technical examination as appropriate to the position.
- Travel expenses for pre‑employment interviews and employment processing will not be authorized.
