Rehab Aide (Healthcare)

  • Assist patients as directed by the Physical Therapist, recording daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board standards.
  • Maintain the department and participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
  • Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
  • Follow physician treatment plans when treating patients.
  • Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides.
  • Communicate patient progress, issues, and plans with supervisors and other health team members.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for staff.
  • Record treatment changes following policies and procedures.
  • Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
  • Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Maintain positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
  • Note:

    This position is non-supervisory.
  • Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant by the State Board.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care.
  • Ability to read and understand technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and families.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret various instructions.
  • Must maintain a valid license in good standing with the state board and meet continuing education requirements.
  • Physical Demands

    The role requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, and frequent tasting/smelling. The ability to exert significant force and perform physical activities like climbing, kneeling, and crouching is necessary.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is typically low to moderate noise levels, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
