About the Role

Are you passionate about helping others gain independence and confidence through real-world learning? We’re looking for a part‑time Adult Skills Trainer to lead fun, hands‑on life skills trainings for adults with mild intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You’ll work in small groups and one‑on‑one settings, using community locations like grocery stores, libraries, parks, and public transit to teach essential life skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being active, creative, and making a real impact in people’s lives.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead engaging life skills workshops in areas such as: grocery shopping and budgeting, public transportation, job readiness and communication, cooking and nutrition, community safety and awareness
  • Transport clients in company vehicles (8–9 passenger vans)
  • Work with co‑leaders and community partners to plan and deliver trainings
  • Support participants in reaching their personal goals
  • Document progress and provide feedback to help participants grow
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment
  • Morning shift 4–5 hour day;
    Monday–Friday
What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with people with disabilities (personal or professional)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license and at least state‑minimum car insurance
  • Must be at least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
  • Must possess a clean driving record (no moving violations, at‑fault accidents, etc.)
  • Must have moderate smart cell phone and computer skills
  • Possess a valid certificate of completion of first aid and CPR training
  • Maintain current and valid licenses, certificates, or registrations that may be legally required to provide the service
  • Must pass a background check

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or related field
  • Experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring
