Lancaster Math​/ELA In-Person Tutors Edwards

Overview

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Lancaster and is hiring math tutors to support elementary and middle school students during after-school hours. You will work with students in grades K-8. You must be comfortable passing an in-person background check. This is a community-focused tutoring opportunity offering consistent hours.

• Work with groups of students (without the direct support of a teacher or school site staff).
• Prepare the area to start tutoring sessions.
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas on the school site.
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress with the Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by the manager.
• Lead tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Clock in and out of Deputy for shifts.
• Perform any other duties as required by the Company, your manager, and/or the School Site.

Must be available between 1:00pm-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Shifts are 3 hours per day, depending on school site needs.

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university in Education.
• Preferred teaching experience or fully credentialed teacher.
• Tutoring experience (effective with kids).
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through Hey Tutor).
• COVID-19 vaccination.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.

$20-26 per hour. Pay depends on education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.
