Location:

Lancaster, CA

Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Student Services, the Dean leads the Enrollment Services and Access Division, which includes Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Job Placement, International Student Programs, Study Abroad, Dual Enrollment and Outreach, Assessment, Orientation, and other assigned departments. The Dean ensures the integrity of all policies, procedures, and programs, supports the college as a whole, and provides complex administrative support to the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Student Services.

Duties
  • Provide strategic leadership and planning for student services delivery systems, including Enrollment Services.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on program development, modifications, and resource prioritization; conduct program analysis, prepare multi‑year plans, and contribute to district‑wide planning.
  • Plan, organize, control, and direct the registration of district students; oversee application review and enrollment processing; ensure timely and efficient registration processes.
  • Oversee development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of Enrollment Services; ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and anticipate legal ramifications.
  • Coordinate services, and communication between administrators, faculty, staff, other departments, outside agencies, governmental agencies, students, and the public; establish and maintain partnerships.
  • Leverage technology and collaborate with ITS to enhance automated systems and long‑term strategic planning for Enrollment Services.
  • Stay current on state, national, and regulatory developments, innovations, and technologies in higher education; evaluate their impact to implement relevant policy and procedural updates.
  • Participate in policy and decision‑making committees; support the shared governance process.
  • Maintain effective communication with feeder school districts, community‑based organizations, and public agencies; develop and participate in college‑community partnerships; make public presentations on behalf of the college.
  • Manage budgets and financial priorities, communicate priorities to departments and senior administration.
  • Collaborate with staff to design program schedules, implement review procedures, and ensure alignment with student learning outcomes.
  • Supervise evaluation of college transcripts and other evidence of past educational experience; review degree requirements for graduation purposes.
  • Supervise procedures for student petitions; provide technical direction, coaching, and performance guidance to staff.
  • Prepare enrollment/FTES reports and the 320 state apportionment report as required.
  • Coordinate short‑term and long‑term staffing needs, make recommendations to the Vice President of Student Services, and assist in new position development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience in programs related to the assignment and one year of leadership or administrative experience.
  • Experience in enrollment management, admissions, and records preferred.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds; passion for DEIA principles.

  • Change management, budgeting, and financial control skills.
  • Communication (oral, electronic, written) across diverse audiences.

Work Direction, Lead, and Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises the work of faculty, staff, student workers, and others as required.
