Overview

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Lancaster and is hiring math tutors to assist elementary and middle school students during after-school hours. You will be working with students in grades K-8. You will be actively supervising students as you help them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year. You must be comfortable passing an in-person background check.

This is an opportunity for those passionate about education, seeking consistent tutoring hours, or looking to support students in the community.

• Work with groups of students (without the direct support of a teacher or school site staff).
• Prepare the area to start tutoring sessions.
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas on the school site.
• Take attendance and run lessons through Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress with Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• When requested by the manager, facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments.
• Lead a group of students in tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Daily clock in/out of Deputy for shifts.
• Any other duties that may be required by the Company, your manager, and/or the School Site.

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university in Education.
• Preferred teaching experience or fully credentialed teacher.
• Tutoring experience (great with kids).
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us).
• COVID-19 vaccination.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.

Must be available between 1:00pm–6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Shifts are 3 hours a day depending on school site needs. Pay: $20–$26 per hour. Pay is determined at the time of the interview based on education and experience.
