Overview
Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (Temporary, part-time) faculty applicant pool for the following Industrial Technology Instructor (Apprenticeship).
RESPONSIBILITIES- Instruct students in the assigned discipline
- Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, online courses and/or off-campus sites
(Applicant must meet one of the following requirements)
- Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges:
Any Bachelor s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience. - Minimum Qualifications for service as an apprenticeship instructor teaching community college credit apprenticeship courses (Title V 53413):
- possession of an associate degree, plus four years of occupational experience in the subject matter area to be taught; OR
- Six years of occupational experience in the subject matter to be taught, a journeyman s certificate in the subject matter area to be taught, and completion of at least twelve (12) semester units of apprenticeship or college level course work. The twelve (12) semester unit requirement may be satisfied concurrently during the first two years of employment as an apprenticeship instructor.
- Six years of occupational experience in the subject matter to be taught, and a minimum of ten years of experience as an apprenticeship instructor for the California Department of Industrial Relations Division of Apprenticeship Standards.

No Antelope Valley College Equivalency
AND a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (Assembly Bill 1725; Education Code 87360).

- Scanned copy of official transcripts with required degree(s). Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application and must identify graduate level coursework
- Two (2) current letters of professional reference signed and dated within the last year

- Applicants may be subject to passing an examination (written/technical), as appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary.
