Overview

Unit Catering Supervisor (Grade
4) – Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. Salary £25,185 - £25,989 per annum | 27.5 hours per week | Permanent, Variable Hours | Larkholme Primary School. You will work as head of the team in Larkholme, providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Responsibilities
  • Cook and serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and production plans.
  • Direct and/or supervise other employees.
  • Order supplies and store deliveries.
  • Maintain records and stock control.
  • Maintain agreed standards and associated documentation in relation to food and kitchen hygiene.
  • Conduct LCC catering inductions to new members of catering teams.
What we are looking for (Requirements)
  • Experience of large-scale catering.
  • Excellent customer services experience essential.
  • Knowledge of food service and supervisory skills.
  • Recognized supervisor or team leader qualification would be desirable.
  • Flexibility with start and finish times to support different unit services.
  • A good handle on up-to-date allergen laws.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday. Term time only. Pay is pro rata so advertised wage is for full time equivalent. 27.50 hours per week, equaling 5.25 hours per day although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake.

Additional Information

This position is part time and term time only; the salary quoted is full time equivalent and the salary received will be paid on a pro‑rata basis. The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a disclosure.
