Availability
The position is available for immediate start, requiring a minimum commitment of four days of work per week, with at least three of those days spent on-site. The sites are primarily located in the Southeast region.
Timescale
The initial contract duration is six months, with the potential for extension. This role is intended to bridge the gap until a full-time internal resource can be recruited.
Scope of Role
As a Project Quality Advisor you will play a crucial role in the project team to ensure the highest standard of quality within Project's in construction. You will be responsible for implementing Onshore's Quality Management Systems that ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements. You will assist the project teams to resolve defects and deviations raised by our contractors to ensure quick resolution and continuous adherence to our contractual requirements.
This role requires a Quality advisor who can ensure quality is at the forefront of our projects and is able to manage quick and efficient resolutions to issues on a fast-moving project.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Engagement: Maintain a regular on-site presence (weekly) to foster relationships with site teams, assisting with day-to-day quality activities and effectively addressing intervention points.
- Meeting Participation: Attend SR163 meetings and project boards to provide updates and insights on quality matters, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of current quality status and challenges.
- Quality Documentation Review: Assist in the review of quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project plans. Ensure familiarity with ITPs and on-site assurance practices to oversee quality planning, assurance, and control processes during construction, guaranteeing compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Design Assurance Monitoring: Monitor and support the design assurance process as needed to ensure that all designs comply with established quality standards.
- Quality Issue Management: Track, record, and facilitate the close-out of quality issues to maintain project integrity, ensuring that all concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Escalation of Quality Issues: Escalate quality issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution and promote continuous improvement within the project.
- First Line of Assurance: Act as the first line of assurance for on-site quality, ensuring that all quality standards are upheld throughout the construction process.
Key skills and knowledge
- Quality Management Expertise: Strong understanding of quality management principles, including quality planning, assurance, and control processes, with the ability to implement these effectively on-site.
- Analytical
Skills:
Proficient in analysing quality performance data and identifying trends, defects, and areas for improvement to enhance overall project quality. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with site teams, stakeholders, and project management. - Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring thorough review and oversight of quality documentation and processes.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to address quality issues proactively and facilitate timely resolutions.
- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry standards, British Standards regulatory requirements, and National Grid's policies, including ISO 9001, to ensure compliance across all quality activities.
- Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to onshore strategic infrastructure projects.
- A good understanding of CDM Regulations and NEC Contractual Requirements, specifically in relation to Client, Principal Designer & Principal Contractor role.
- An understanding of different contractual relationships within experience in an enterprise way of work is a plus
Technical Knowledge
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to onshore strategic infrastructure projects.
A good understanding of CDM Regulations and NEC Contractual Requirements, specifically in relation to Client, Principal Designer & Principal Contractor role.
An understanding of different contractual relationships within experience in an enterprise way of work is a plus
