Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Shift Pattern: Panama Shift Pattern (5s and 4s)

The Role:

A leading food manufacturing business in the Blackpool area is currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer due to significant recent investment and multiple multi‑million‑pound projects scheduled to commence in 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established and forward‑thinking manufacturing operation during a period of growth and modernisation.

The successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical maintenance support within a fast‑paced, highly automated food production environment, working on a Panama shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on food manufacturing machinery

Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding across processing and packaging equipment

Working with PLC‑controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, and automation

Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery as part of upcoming capital projects

Ensuring all maintenance work is completed in line with health, safety, and food hygiene standards

Working effectively as part of a skilled engineering team on a Panama shift pattern

About the Candidate:

The ideal Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will have:

Previous experience working as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer within food or FMCG manufacturing

Strong electrical fault‑finding skills with good mechanical knowledge

Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

Experience with in high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environments

A proactive approach to breakdown response, PPMs, and continuous improvement
