The OpportunityThe Family Team is looking to recruit an experienced Family Solicitor (2+ PQE ideally) to join any of our Preston, Garstang, Clitheroe, Lytham, or Lancaster offices. You will manage a varied caseload of privately funded divorce, financial remedy, and children matters, using a Case Management System.
The role also involves business development activities such as networking events, building local relationships, and identifying new opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities- Effective management of Family files, both hard copy and within SOS.
- Progress client work efficiently, ensuring clients are kept informed on outcomes, progress, and costs.
- Attend court, mediations, and meetings, preparing detailed notes and minutes as required.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of documentation in line with Law Society and GDPR requirements.
- Achieve agreed billing and time‑recording targets.
- Manage the billing process and liaise with Finance.
- Draft legal documents including correspondence and court documentation.
- Support colleagues within the team when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational development.
- Work towards team objectives and promote the firm’s values.
- Actively participate in marketing and business development activities.
- Experience acting for privately funded and HNW clients.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, using initiative.
- Confidence in business development and building client relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Experience using the SOS case‑management system.
