Position: Support Worker - Young People
Support Worker

Location:

Preston (must have full driving licence and access to car)

Pay Rate - £12.60 - £14.20ph

Immediate starts available!

Shift Pattern:
Days 7am-10pm or Nights 10pm-8am

Hours - 37.5hr or 40hr contracts available (3-4 shifts per week)

Do you want to support young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives?

If so, our client has an exciting opportunity for you to join their Residential Support team!

Support Worker duties include:

* Enable people we support to access a full range of chosen activities and access to the community.

* Contribute to and follow person-centred care plans, ensuring individual needs and wants are always met.

* Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

* Accurately complete key daily documentation, including care records, fluid and nutrition charts, and incident reports.

* Administer and record medication safely and accurately.

* Support individuals with meal preparation, domestic duties, and general household tasks while encouraging independent living skills

* Provide psychological, emotional, and physical support to service users.

* Identify and report any concerns, ensuring a safe environment

* Maintain positive relationships with family members, friends, and external professionals.

About you:

Essential:

* Open-minded attitude to diversity and inclusion.

* Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

* Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative when working alone.

* Full driving licence and use of own car for work.

* Available full-time and flexible on working weekends.

* Willingness to provide references and complete a DBS check.

* Understanding of SEN, Autism and safeguarding processes

Preferable:

* Previous experience working with vulnerable children and young people.

* Knowledge and understanding of Autism & Learning Disabilities.

* Transferable skills from similar roles or personal experiences.
