Overview
Job Description – Salary 36,363 - 40,777 Per Annum | Permanent, Full time | 37 hours per week
Vision rehabilitation post based primarily in Wyre.

We are seeking a qualified VRS/ROVI to join our Sensory Impairment Team. The team focuses on helping individuals overcome the challenges of vision impairment. As part of the team you will complete assessments (usually in people’s homes), deliver training and provide specialist advice and guidance as part of a coordinated response to individuals’ needs.
Responsibilities- Deliver standard training such as orientation and mobility, independent living and communication skills, as well as low vision training (you will not be dispensing LVAs).
- Conduct assessments (typically in clients’ homes) and provide high quality training and specialist advice as part of a coordinated care approach.
- Work in partnership with individuals with vision impairments, their families and carers, and with internal and external professionals involved in assessment and service provision (e.g., hearing impairment specialists, social care teams, OTs, health and local/national vision impairment charities).
- Build professional, trusting relationships with all partners to support effective service provision.
- Be part of a supportive team with regular supervision, opportunities to build on existing skills, and access to a range of staff benefits.
- Qualified Vision Rehabilitation Specialist (VRS/ROVI).
- Ability to deliver training across areas such as orientation and mobility, independent living, communication skills, and low vision training.
- Willingness to complete assessments in clients’ homes and provide guidance to meet individual needs.
- Provide a car for use in connection with duties and be insured for business use. We may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
- Driving is required to fulfil duties; consideration given for disability-related limitations.
- The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013) applies. If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a disclosure. Further information can be found on the 'Our Recruitment Process' tab.
