The organisation delivers high and low voltage infrastructure solutions across the UK and plays an important role in supporting the development of private electrical networks for commercial and industrial clients. The Role
This is a senior commercial position responsible for leading the commercial strategy across major electrical infrastructure and construction projects. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, and delivery partners to ensure effective risk management, robust cost planning, and strong contractual governance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial risk visibility across construction project bids.
Provide contractual and cost guidance during pre-construction and feasibility stages.
Prepare tender and contract documentation for civil and electrical works.
Lead monthly and quarterly cost analysis and commercial performance reporting.
Work closely with project management and design teams to define client requirements.
Present commercial proposals and approvals to senior leadership.
Oversee pre-contract services and maintain consistent cost planning.
Manage NEC professional services contracts and framework agreements.
Evaluate supply chain tenders to ensure cost-effective delivery.
Lead and develop a team of estimators and junior quantity surveyors.
Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes aligned to business strategy.
Requirements
Strong experience working with NEC4 PSC and ECC contracts.
Background in the utilities or electrical infrastructure sector within a commercial/QS environment.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of construction contract frameworks such as NEC, IET, and JCT.
Demonstrable experience in cost control, forecasting, and tender analysis.
Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
RICS membership (or working towards) desirable.
Experience managing high-value, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
