The Role
As an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment within a heavy industrial / chemical processing environment.
Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights), you will ensure maximum plant uptime through reactive and planned maintenance activities.
Performance Objectives
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and process equipment
- Support mechanical maintenance where required
- Work on motors, drives, inverters, control panels and instrumentation
- Fault finding on PLC systems (Siemens / Allen Bradley desirable)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and site regulations
- Minimise downtime and improve reliability across the plant
Person Specification
- Time-served Electrical Engineer (Apprenticeship or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience with in heavy industry, chemical, process, manufacturing or similar environment
- Strong fault-finding ability on industrial electrical systems
- PLC fault-finding experience (modifications advantageous)
- 17th / 18th Edition desirable
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
