My client is a specialist manufacturer within the precision metal industry. They are looking for a Senior Estimating and Engineering Lead to join their team in the Manchester area on a permanent basis.

• Providing design and estimating support for customers, the merchant networks, and sales teams
• Gaining technical competence and understanding of the company’s products and services
• Communicating with customers, providing technical consultancy, responding to enquiries, and liaising with external sales teams
• Working with the Projects Team to convert client requirements into detailed designs and technical instructions
• Technical creation of quotations
• Taking over requirements from the sales team and seeing them through the technical stage
• Planning and organisation
• Innovative thinking and problem solving
• Working in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects

• Previous experience in sales, estimating, proposals, or engineering roles
• Strong practical and technical knowledge of CAD software:
  Solid Works or similar
• Knowledge of metal treatments, stamping, precision forming beneficial
• Experience working with multiple cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Production, Sales)
• Experience producing quotations and queries
• Experience providing technical consultancy internally and externally
• Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
• Be self‑motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
