Join Us as a Academic Tutor and Make a Real Impact

Prospero Teaching works in partnership with Local Councils and SEND teams across the UK to support young people who are out of mainstream education, need additional academic help, or have SEND requirements.

We are looking for passionate, committed Tutors with QTS or equivalent experience to deliver 1:1 tuition in core GCSE subjects. Your support will help students build confidence, re-engage with learning, and prepare for exam success.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver personalised, high-quality tuition across core GCSE subjects
  • Create engaging lessons tailored to each student's learning style, supported by resources on our Tutor Portal
  • Track and assess progress, providing clear End-of-Week reports
  • Build a positive, encouraging learning environment that motivates students
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about progress and next steps
The Role:
  • Location: Kirkby
  • Role: Academic Tutor
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Varies depending on each student
  • End date: Ongoing
  • Contract type: Temporary
  • Hours: Part-time or full-time depending on your availability
  • Rate: From 25 to 30 per hour
  • Session length: Minimum 1 hour, maximum 3 hours per session
What We're Looking For
  • QTS, a relevant teaching qualification, or strong tutoring experience
  • Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with KS3 and KS4 learners
  • Proven success in delivering effective 1:1 support
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and build student confidence
