Applications are invited for NIHR funded integrated academic training clinical lecturer posts in Neurology, Public Health Medicine or General Practice at Lancaster Medical School. Two posts are available for up to four years: the clinical training needs of the successful candidate will determine the duration, up to a maximum of four years or until completion of clinical training (CCT), whichever is sooner.
You will have the opportunity to undertake internationally regarded research and share responsibility for elements of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes. You will be awarded a training contract with Health Education England Northwest in the specialist registrar/specialty trainee grade or equivalent and an honorary contract with a relevant NHS Trust.
Responsibilities- Undertake internationally regarded research and share responsibility for elements of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes.
- Engage in training and research around the development and delivery of digital health and care interventions, digital research methodology and big data analysis, including use of artificial intelligence, machine‑learning, data analytics, precision medicine, virtual and augmented reality.
- Potential to conduct research in other GMC‑registered specialties if research interests align with faculty strengths.
- Participate in the delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes.
- Hold (or have submitted) your PhD/MD at the time of application and be fully awarded by 30 September 2026.
- Hold a current National Training Number (NTN) in the relevant specialty and be more than 12 months prior to CCT at time of appointment (not relevant for GP candidates).
- General Practitioners (GPs) can only apply if they have completed their clinical training and obtained a CCT.
- Must be able to take up the post by 30 September 2026.
