The Faculty Operations Team is looking to recruit a School Assistant to support the day‑to‑day operation of the Schools, particularly the School of Law, while the current post‑holder is on maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the running of a large and busy academic School. The School of Law is a friendly, diverse and ambitious place to work, with a strong sense of community.
Our goals are to offer an excellent academic experience and innovative teaching, as well as impactful research that helps to shape both policy and practice.
As the School Assistant you will work closely with academic and professional services staff, the Faculty Operations Team, and the wider University to provide high‑quality administrative support to the operational activities of the School. Duties include acting as the first point of contact for enquiries, updating our website and social media, supporting school events and meetings, and general administration related to school space, records management and purchasing.
The workload will be varied, offering opportunities to explore your interests and develop your skills across all areas of the role. You should have excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi‑task, strong IT skills and an interest in enhancing the services we deliver in the School and across the Faculty.
This role is based on the Bailrigg campus, with flexibility for those who prefer to work some of the time remotely.
It is a fixed‑term post until 31 December 2026 and part‑time (12 hours per week / 0.33 FTE).
