SEMH Learning Support Assistant - Special / Alternative Provision

Time Plan Education is recruiting an SEMH Learning Support Assistant for a special school / alternative provision supporting secondary‑aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong pastoral or behaviour background who wants to make a real impact.

As an SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will:
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils whose learning is affected by SEMH needs.
  • Support behaviour using de‑escalation, restorative approaches and consistent boundaries.
  • Help pupils access a tailored curriculum, including vocational and practical learning.
  • Liaise with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals, and contribute to support plans.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience in SEMH, PRU, youth work or similar behaviour‑focused roles.
  • Be resilient, reflective and skilled at building trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils.
  • Be committed to a holistic, child‑centred approach to progress and wellbeing.
