- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3.
- Assist with phonics sessions, supporting children with reading, writing, and early literacy development.
- Work closely with children in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support for those who need extra help.
- Support targeted interventions for children who need additional support in areas like literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Provide general classroom assistance, ensuring all children remain engaged and focused during lessons.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, encouraging positive attitudes to learning.
- Support assessment and record‑keeping for student progress under the direction of the class teacher.
- Qualification:
Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or
3) or have at least 6 months' prior experience working as a TA in a school setting. - Phonics Knowledge:
Understanding of phonics and how to support children in early literacy is essential. - Experience in supporting children with 1:1 and small group work, particularly with literacy and numeracy interventions.
- Confident and proactive approach to supporting students' learning and development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teachers and other school staff.
