ABOUT

THE ROLE

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to learners in Skelmersdale starting January 2026.

You will be supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, many of whom are not currently accessing mainstream education. Lessons will be fully personalised to meet individual needs, with a focus on engagement, confidence-building, and routine.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions to students with SEN

Adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles and needs

Support academic learning as well as emotional regulation and engagement

Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families

Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and professionals

Plan structured sessions using a therapeutic and student-centred approach

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience working with children or young people with SEN

Right to work in the UK

Enhanced DBS on the Child Barred List registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent

Experience working with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH
