About the CompanyA reputable residential house builder requires an experienced Temporary Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team on a busy programme of new build developments across Lancashire. With strong site pipelines and a collaborative working culture, this business offers an excellent opportunity for an interim professional to make an immediate impact.
The RoleThis temporary role will provide vital commercial oversight to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and remain financially controlled. You will work closely with project managers and subcontractors, supporting live sites and assisting with cost reporting, procurement, and valuations.
As Temporary Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:- Assisting with cost management across live residential projects
- Preparing interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Supporting subcontract procurement and payment processes
- Monitoring budgets and cost forecasts
- Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial compliance
- Producing accurate commercial reports for senior management
- Liaising with site teams to resolve commercial queries
This role suits someone confident working in a busy environment who can quickly integrate and add value.
The successful Temporary Quantity Surveyor will have:- Previous experience as a QS within residential new build housing
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts and valuation processes
- Ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Competence using relevant commercial software and MS Excel
- A flexible, hands‑on attitude suited to temporary assignments
- Competitive hourly rate of £28 - £35 per hour
