Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home

Brand New Children’s Home | 3–4 Bed
Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join a newly established children’s residential home. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role within a small, dynamic team, supporting children and young people while helping shape the home’s culture, practice, and routines from day one.

As Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, child-centred care, supervising staff, and ensuring the home operates safely, compliantly, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to the care team

* Support the Registered Manager in delivering a safe, nurturing, and aspirational environment for children and young people

* Promote positive behaviour management and trauma-informed care practices

* Assist in staff development, mentoring, and performance monitoring

* Ensure safeguarding procedures and safer recruitment practices are followed at all times

* Support the home in meeting Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards

* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews for children

* Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with organisational and regulatory requirements

* Step in as acting manager when required, gaining exposure to leadership responsibilities

About You

You will:

* Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent);
Level 5 leadership training is desirable

* Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential setting

* Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care

* Be confident supervising staff and leading shifts

* Be reliable, resilient, and values-driven, committed to achieving positive outcomes for children

* Have excellent communication and team working skills
