Medlock Partners are delighted to be partnering our client, a leading international manufacturing business based in the Lancashire area as they look to appoint a qualified Senior Management Accountant in a Plant Accountant / Business Controller position.
Reporting to the Head Of Controlling, the Plant Accountant / Business Controller will take full responsibility for the Management Accounts preparation and business partnering that will support the performance of the Manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Month-end Management Accounts and associated commentary preparation for the Manufacturing Plant.
- KPI dashboard preparation and control for the Manufacturing Plant.
- Developing a Business Partnering relationship with the key Plant site stakeholders.
- Challenging business unit performance and carrying out investigative and analytical work with a view to understand and enhance business unit performance.
- Involvement in the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts for the Business Unit.
- Product costing duties (with support from SSC Product Cost Accountant).
- Ad hoc analysis of inventory.
- Assisting and overseeing the annual stock take.
- Maintaining standard costs for the Business Unit.
- Contribution to Local and Global improvement projects as and when.
- Adopting a continuous improvement mindset and embracing Lean Manufacturing concepts in your support of the business unit.
- On time and accurate production of the Management Accounts and associated commentary.
- On time and accurate production of the Manufacturing KPI dashboard.
- Analytical support work for the Plant demonstrating understanding of manufacturing accounting and areas to challenge weak business performance.
- Assist in Budgetary and Forecasting process.
- Attending available training, taking the time to add to your professional skillset.
- Volunteering and taking an interest and being involved in Global and Local projects as and when that are related to your role.
- CIMA or ACCA qualified.
- Understanding and experience of manufacturing accounting.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good quality presentation of information to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications especially Excel.
- Performs well under pressure, good time management.
- Effective organisational skills.
- Ability to undertake tasks from outset to completion.
- Accomplished analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and ability to work under own initiative.
As well as being responsible for the monthly Management Accounts and commentary preparation for the Manufacturing Plant, the successful candidate will also play a key role in the budget/forecasting process.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, qualified Management Accountant, with prior experience of working in a Manufacturing business. You will be a strong communicator, developing trusted relationships with the senior management team and internal/external stakeholders.
