Position: Service Station Attendant 3701 96th St. SW, Lakewood

Pierce Transit is an independent municipal organization dedicated to fulfilling the mission of improving people’s quality of life by providing safe, reliable, innovative, and useful transportation services that are locally based and regionally connected.

We are currently recruiting for reliable and conscientious Service Station Attendants to join the Fleet Maintenance team. This critical Fleet position is fast‑paced and dynamic, with no two shifts ever being the same. Our Service Station Attendants need to have a strong work ethic, superior attention to detail, and a high level of safety mindedness.

This full‑time, benefited position will be assigned a schedule based on seniority which will likely be second or third shift initially. Please see information below for shift differential pay. Responsibilities
  • Assist mechanics or independently perform light preventative maintenance repairs and services.
  • Fill fuel tanks with gasoline, diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), or propane.
  • Be prepared for both indoor and outdoor work.
  • Take on the responsibility for safely performing all assigned work.
  • Use sound independent judgment to make decisions and take actions on assigned duties.
  • Work well with others.
  • Ensure that work standards meet and/or exceed expectations.

Pierce Transit provides an ORCA Card benefit for each employee and a family member. This benefit provides free access to service on Pierce Transit, Sound Transit, Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro, Kitsap Transit, Seattle Monorail, Seattle Streetcar, King County Water Taxi and Kitsap Foot Ferry.

SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

Employees are eligible for differential pay per the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), Local #758 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

PAID LEAVE

Full‑time Pierce Transit employees are eligible to receive 11 paid holidays, 2 personal paid holidays, 12 days of sick leave, 12 vacation days per year, and the ability to earn up to 2 additional personal holidays by participating in a qualifying wellness activity and the annual survey. Part‑time employees receive pro‑rated leave, to include sick leave, vacation, personal holiday and holiday pay.

Vacation leave accrual rates increase per the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

JOB DUTIES
  • Fill fuel tanks with gasoline, diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), or propane.
  • Fill diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tanks as needed.
  • Check engine and transmission oil, coolant, and power steering fluid levels.
  • Sweep inside and wash both interior and exterior of vehicles as needed.
  • Remove and replace interior vehicle seats.
  • Remove and empty cash boxes.
