Relief Veterinary Technician

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Relief Veterinary Technician to join our ER department! LVT II Pay: $27.25 - $38.80 per hour. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.

Shift differentials apply for a minimum of 4 hours. For example:

• Mon – Fri 6pm to 8am: $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun 8am to 6pm: $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun 6pm to 8am: $8.00 Shift Differential

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Place IVCs and advanced catheters such as Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines
• Perform advanced radiographs
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases
• Provide Level 2 & 3 inpatient care
• Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients
• Mentor and train other co‑workers

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non‑credentialed, full‑time paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full‑time CVT associates receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year; VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year, with up to 24 hours carried over year to year.

Newly hired associates receive a pro‑rated amount of any eligible CE benefit.
