Residential Counselors assist adults in BHN residential programs to develop their skills for recovery and wellness. Focuses on helping residents attain or resume their capacity for independent living, providing hope and motivation, as residents heal and develop resiliency.
Responsibilities- Provides counseling to help residents re-establish self-identity, sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which may include developing plans for work, school, and/or volunteering, and making community connections.
- Helps residents develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, money management, social skills and knowledge of symptoms and medications.
- Creates treatment plans and discharge planning documents and delivers/reviews with residents.
- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions.
- AA degree in social services or related field preferred
- One (1) year of experience working with mentally ill consumers in a residential setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI), Food Handler’s, & First Aid cards will be required within 14-days of hire
- Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered or within 30 days and obtain within 90 days of hire
- Drivers License/Abstract

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.75 - $26.99 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
