Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Lakewood, OH
Deliver comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care in a dynamic 32-bed unit specializing in Med Surg/Oncology. This contract role requires a dedicated RN capable of performing detailed patient assessments, medication administration, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams while upholding the highest standards of patient advocacy and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain updated care plans.
• Administer medications safely using advanced equipment including Alaris and Kangaroo pumps.
• Perform IV starts, CVC line draws, and assist with use of specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wound vacs.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient discharge and ongoing care needs.
• Act as a patient advocate, supporting physical and psychological wellbeing.
• Participate actively in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Desired Qualifications and

Experience:

• Current RN license in state or compact-covered (required).
• BLS and NIH Stroke Exam certification (required).
• Oncology experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong clinical knowledge in medical-surgical nursing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform under stress with strong time management and prioritization.
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac and medical-surgical certifications (ACLS, CMSRN, CCRN, PCCN) is a plus.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
