Job SummaryZaremba Group’s accounting team has an immediate full-time opening for a Construction Accountant. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for managing the construction funding process for a portfolio of single-tenant retail development projects.
Essential Functions- Prepare, submit, and track monthly construction loan draws with lenders for a dynamic portfolio of single tenant construction projects.
- Ensure the general contractor’s application for payment and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
- Verify the accuracy of invoice coding in accounting system and coordinate with lenders to ensure timely funding of draws.
- Interface with other departments to assist in resolving construction and risk issues as needed to facilitate timely completion of projects.
- Coordinate timely payments to General Contractors and vendors.
- Monitor construction budgets on a monthly basis.
- Maintain detailed job cost records for assigned projects.
- Review and process project expenses.
- Assist with the accounts payable function.
- Complete fee program tracking of purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare monthly forecast including project completion analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- Detail-oriented with high level of attention to financial accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability and desire to work closely with colleagues within a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Sage 300 CRE / Timberline accounting software experience a plus.
- People Soft and SAP experience is helpful.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
