Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) internship program is a structured, project based guided mentorship experience designed to provide hands-on experience in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment on real-world projects that bridges gap between drug development and commercial manufacturing.

Program Overview

In this program the intern will support a specific MS&T sub-function such as Technology Transfer, Process Optimization or Process Characterization under the guidance of experienced industrial professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Technology Transfer:Assist development activities with transfer of new drug product processes into manufacturing, ensuring documentation is accurate and providing on-floor support for manufacturing
  • Process Optimization: Analyze data from manufacturing runs to identify trends, trouble shoot issues and propose efficiency improvements
  • Process Characterization:Executing lab-scale trials for product transfer and filling operations under the guidance of senior scientists

Typical Qualification:Currently pursuing degrees in Engineering (Biomedical, Chemical), Chemistry, Biology or related discipline. Senior class of year preferred for students pursuing bachelor’s degree.

Technical Skills:

  • Passion for the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint etc.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Engineering principles
  • Experience with basic laboratory techniques and equipment
  • Proficient in data analysis

Soft Skills:Strong analytical problem-solving skills, technical writing and communication skills, Curious with passion for exploring new ideas and developing comprehensive solutions, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams (R&D, Validations, Engineering, Operations, and Quality).

  • Knowledge in Pharmaceutical manufacturing workflows
  • Learning to communicate with diverse teams within the cross-functional matrix
  • Exposure to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP)
  • Develop an understanding for mission-driven nature of pharmaceutical work, where patient safety is primary goal

Program Deliverable:The program will conclude with a final presentation where the intern will showcase their project results to site leadership and peers.

Qualifications ExperienceRequired

Seniors or Grad Students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.2

Preferred majors include Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related majors.

Ideal candidate has a strong interest and base in the scientific field and is quick learner.
