Overview

Preschool Teacher Assistant (Part-Time – 6 Hours/Day)

We are seeking a nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher Assistant to support our lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily routines, classroom activities, and child supervision while helping foster a positive and caring atmosphere for all children.

• Approximately 6 hours per day
  , Monday through Friday.
• (Specific hours to be determined based on classroom needs).

• Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Supervise and engage with children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist with daily routines such as arrival, meals/snacks, rest time, and dismissal.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Help prepare instructional materials and classroom supplies.
• Encourage positive social interactions and model appropriate behavior.
• Communicate effectively with the lead teacher and center director regarding children’s needs or concerns.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, and handwashing as needed, following health and safety guidelines.
• Support classroom transitions and outdoor play supervision.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and center events as requested.

• Minimum age 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or college coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred).
• Experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and actively engage with children at their level (standing, sitting on the floor, etc.).
• Warm, patient, and reliable personality with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must meet state and center licensing requirements, including background checks and health clearances.
