Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, ownership-driven Business Development Lead to join a fast-growing electronics distribution organization working with Tier-1 brands and high-demand products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes full responsibility for moving opportunities from initial conversation through execution.

Customers often approach this business with needs that are not clearly defined or packaged into standard solutions. The Business Development Lead plays a critical role in creating clarity, designing a viable path forward, and ensuring reliable execution. This position is not about following scripts—it’s about thinking critically, staying organized, and owning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Opportunity Ownership & Execution

  • Own customer opportunities end-to-end, from first contact through execution or intentional closure
  • Take responsibility for a steady flow of real customer requests, many of which do not fit neatly into predefined products or processes
  • Drive opportunities forward by creating clarity when requests are incomplete, unclear, or ambiguous
  • Ensure no viable opportunities stall or get dropped due to lack of follow-up or ownership

Problem Solving & Solution Development

  • Research options and work cross-functionally with internal teams to identify viable solutions
  • Find paths forward even when no obvious solution exists
  • Apply structured thinking to non-standard or complex customer requests
  • Successfully execute both standard and non-standard opportunities

Organization & Follow-Through

  • Stay organized across a high volume of active opportunities, always knowing next steps and priorities
  • Build and maintain a personal system for tracking, managing, and progressing opportunities
  • Follow up consistently with customers and internal teams to maintain momentum

Customer & Relationship Development

  • Identify which customers represent one-time, repeat, or long-term opportunities
  • Grow repeat and wholesale relationships through strong execution and reliability
  • Earn customer trust by delivering clarity, responsiveness, and follow-through

Feedback & Process Improvement

  • Share patterns, insights, and feedback that help improve how opportunities are handled
  • Contribute to better opportunity clarity, focus, and execution across the business
  • Be a reliable internal partner who helps teams understand customer needs and priorities

Core Outcomes (What Success Looks Like)

  • Maintain control over a high volume of active opportunities without losing follow-through
  • Convert unclear or non-standard requests into executed revenue
  • Correctly identify customer types and prioritize effort accordingly
  • Grow repeat and wholesale business through dependable execution
